About the Event
Foundation cracks are one of the most common conditions identified during a residential home inspection. Some cracks are minor and cosmetic, while others may indicate movement, settlement, water intrusion, or structural concern. This one-hour webinar teaches home inspectors how to recognize common foundation crack patterns, understand their possible causes, evaluate their potential effect on the structure, and communicate findings clearly to clients without overstating or minimizing the concern.
The course will review cracks in poured concrete, concrete block, stone, brick, and slab foundations. Emphasis will be placed on visual inspection limitations, reporting language, when further evaluation is appropriate, and how to explain foundation conditions in a professional, balanced manner.
